Jagger V Barnes - The Rolling Stones & Cold Chisel To Battle For Aus #1 Album

Who will come out on top?

This week's race to #1 on the ARIA Albums chart looks to be coming down to two legendary groups  — iconic UK group, The Rolling Stones and national treasures, Cold Chisel.

The Stones are the favourites to come out on top with their hugely acclaimed blues album, Blue & Lonesome (also our pick for Album Of The Week), but the Jimmy Barnes-led Adelaide band are hot on Jagger's heels with new live LP, The Live Tapes Vol. 3, recorded at Sydney's Manly Vale Hotel in 1980.

Chisel haven't had an album peak in top spot since 1998's The Last Wave Of Summer, but The Rolling Stones have had an even longer drought, with their last Aussie #1 coming with Voodoo Lounge released in 1994.

While it's likely the two veteran acts will fight for the coveted #1 spot, they will also be forced to fend off Falls Festival headliner Childish Gambino's "Awaken, My Love!" which is primed for a top five finish, as well as last week's chart topper The Weeknd with Starboy, Metallica's Hardwired… To Self-Destruct and Michael Buble's 2011 Christmas LP.

Rounding out the album debuts this week includes a compilation of remixes, samples and covers from the Hamilton musical, Kate Miller-Heidke's The Best Of Kate Miller-Heidke- Act OneGuy Sebastian's Part 1 EP and John Legend's Darkness & Light.

Over on the Singles chart, Clean Bandit will be looking to hold on to #1 with Rockabye featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie, though you should expect to see Aussie duo Peking Duk's Stranger featuring Elliphant shoot into the top ten.

The only debut this week comes from Childish Gambino with Redbone which is looking to land in the top 50.
