Melb Club Promoters Plead Guilty To Drug Trafficking Charges

Two Melbourne nightclub promoters have pleaded guilty to attempting to traffic millions of dollars worth of ice into the country after being charged earlier this year

According to Fairfax, An Ken Vi appeared at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today, while Raymond Lach appeared via video link.

Both pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to traffic a commercial quantity of the drug.

The promoters, who were employed by popular trance promoter Majik Entertainment at the time of the arrest, reportedly attempted to traffic 275kg of methamphetamine concealed in udon noodle packets.

A federal crime task force discovered the drugs hidden under the floorboards of three shipping containers imported from China.  

It is alleged by police that the drugs have a street value of $275 million.

Vi and Lach were two of five men arrested back in July. 

Both men will appear in County Court on 28 April.
