We still miss you Bowie

More David Bowie More David Bowie

In honour of David Bowie’s upcoming 70th birthday, a series of global concerts have been announced in cities strongly connected to the late musician. One of these Celebrating David Bowie shows will take place at the iconic Sydney Opera House on 29 January.

Special Aussie guests Bernard Fanning, Sarah Blasko and Paul Dempsey will join key Bowie band members, friends and collaborators including Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Adrian Belew, Gail Ann Dorsey, Sterling Campbell, Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones), Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Gaby Moreno and Joe Sumner.

The shows were inspired by the tributes made to Bowie earlier this year, specifically the two large ensemble shows where the likes of Gary Oldman and Seal performed alongside Bowie's former band members.

The concerts however are being referred to as celebrations rather than tributes, and will likely be the last time you’ll be able to catch Bowie’s close friends and musicians performing his music together.

Other cities Celebrating David Bowie will head to include London, LA and Tokyo.
