More Garbage More Garbage

Having announced last week that drummer Butch Vig would be sitting out of Garbage's upcoming Australian tour, news has surfaced that the legend's health may have actually kept him on the bench for most of the year.

Speaking to The Music in an interview, vocalist Shirley Manson said, "He's actually been on the bench all year, to be honest. He's not been in fighting form all year.

"He's had severe sinus problems that have just kept recurring. He tried coming back out with us on the west coast of the [United] States and he just got sick again almost immediately. It's a bummer, but he's going to have surgery and that will hopefully clear it all up once and for all."

Despite Manson being the "face" of the band, Vig has long been a huge contributor to the band's sound as percussionist and producer, alongside fellow producer and instrumentalists Duke Ericsson and Steve Marker.
