If you thought the already jaw-dropping 2017 Bluesfest line-up couldn’t get any better, you’re beyond wrong, with the award-winning event dishing up another massive artist announcement with Neil Young & Promise Of The Real confirmed for a scorching, three-hour set.

The news comes less than a week after legendary guitarist Carlos Santana and iconic US rockers The Doobie Brothers were announced and sees Young and co join Zac Brown Band, Patti Smith, Mary J Blige, Buddy Guy and so many more at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm from Thursday 13 to Monday 17 April; their set going down on the Friday night on the Crossroads stage.

It will be the Canadian music icon’s Bluesfest debut, while Promise Of The Real – lead by Lukas Nelson (Willie Nelson’s son) - return for their second consecutive year after stunning fans this past April.

“We ask fans yearly in questionnaires who is the most requested artist to play a future Bluesfest, hands down Neil comes in first on every poll we do,” Bluesfest director Peter Noble said.

“Neil’s recent sets have included such classics as Heart Of Gold, Out On The Weekend, Harvest Moon, Powderfinger, Cowgirl In The Sand, Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, Cortez The Killer and Rockin’ In The Free World – WOW. I can’t wait!

“Bluesfest 2017 is shaping up to be one of our best yet.”

Young first teamed up with Promise Of The Real after 2014's Farm Aid, and have since released two albums, The Monsanto Years in 2015, and recent live album Earth, both receiving critical acclaim.

Over the years, Promise Of The Real have also performed with John Fogerty, Bob Weir, BB King, Bob Dylan and more.

As insane as it sounds, Bluesfest still isn’t done, revealing another major announcement will roll out Sunday 9 October at 9am AEDT, following three major Bluesfest announcements in as many weeks – and that’s one of the reasons why Bluesfest is Australia’s best regional event.
