Ink And Eat: Melbourne Cafe Promises Burgers For Life If You Get Tattooed

Cafe 51 have pledged one free burger every day for the rest of your life if you get one inked on you

How far would you go to get a free burger? A Melbourne eatery is hoping to find out. The good people at Cafe 51 have pledged to give you one free burger, every day for the rest of your life if you get a to-scale tattoo of one of their burgers somewhere on your body.

The rules state that entrants are only entitled to one burger reward, so getting every inch of your bod tattooed in burgers won’t get you a skip-full of eats. Also, you need to get your tatt on a part of your body that you can easily (and legally) whip out in a restaurant, so it’s a good thing they’re not giving away hotdogs.

As a PR stunt, kudos to Cafe 51, who have stirred up a few headlines, but given that few people are into burgers enough to get one permanently stamped on their skin, the diner’s owners probably aren’t too anxious about their profit margins.

The story bears a striking resemblance to another free food challenge. In June, Mr Burger promised free grub to anyone who legally changed their name to Burger until the party poopers at the Victorian Government killed everyone’s buzz and put a stop to it.
