Colorado folk-rock outfit The Lumineers will treat local audiences to four headline shows in April next year when they hit the country as part of the 2017 Byron Bay Bluesfest line-up.

The celebrated US troupe will woo Sydneysiders twice with a double performance at the Opera House, also taking the time for headline shows at Melbourne's State Theatre and Perth's Metro City.

The band will arrive in Australia still proudly peddling this year's lauded sophomore full-length Cleopatra, which landed a solid four years after their broadly acclaimed self-titled debut and, with its title track and fellow single Ophelia, immediately asserted itself as a more-than-worthy successor to its best-selling forebear.

Tickets for all four shows, proudly presented by The Music, go on sale this Thursday, 22 September; Sydney from 9am, Melbourne from 10am and Perth from 11am AEST (9am AWST).
