The third annual festival will be held in South Australia this November

More Killing Heidi More Killing Heidi

The boutique Handpicked Festival returns to Lake Breeze Wines in Langhorne Creek this November, and organisers are setting the bar high for this year's first-ever camping-inclusive event by unveiling celebrated Australian acts The Veronicas and Killing Heidi atop the bill.

The Veronicas have been enjoying a renewed period of activity over the past couple of years, buoyed as they have been by their 2014 self-titled comeback album, their first release in seven years. Killing Heidi, meanwhile, are freshly entering their revival, having been recently announced for the Queenscliff Music Festival as well. (In fact, Handpicked has inadvertently pipped the QMF to the claim of boasting the band's first live performance in over 10 years, which is a neat little coup to have secured.)

"Being able to host The Veronicas and Killing Heidi, two of the most iconic Australian bands from over the past 20 years, on the same bill is quite stunning," Handpicked event manager Kate Cooper said in a statement.

Also in tow for Handpicked's 2016 instalment will be Adelaide locals Thom Lion & The Tamers, who recently put out well-received EP Sleep Riots and appeared at the Clipsal 500 back in March.

The third annual Handpicked Festival returns to Lake Breeze Wines, Langhorne Creek, on Saturday 12 November, with the event offering on-site camping for the first time this year. Handpicked's Tent City will have room for 500 punters to stay the night to ensure a safe drive home the next morning, a particularly solid option if you plan on enjoying the delights of the festival's inaugural Tasting Trail, comprised of the region's renowned fresh produce and Lake Breeze's wine collection. There will also be market stalls for the commerce-inclined, exhibiting a range of arts, crafts, jewellery and wares from around South Australia.

Pre-sale tickets for the 2016 Handpicked Festival will go on sale from this Saturday, 27 August, via the festival's website.
