More Archie Roach More Archie Roach

Celebrated Indigenous singer-songwriter Archie Roach has announced two special shows — one each in Sydney and Melbourne — to celebrate the arrival of his impending studio full-length, Let Love Rule, which arrives next month in the wake of its first single and clip, It's Not Too Late.

Roach will take to the stage at Sydney's City Recital Hall on Wednesday 19 October, as well as in Elisabeth Murdoch Hall at Melbourne Recital Centre on Saturday 29 October. The performances will follow Let Love Rule's release on Friday 23 September via Liberation Music.

The album's hope-filled new single sets the tone for the wider release, which Roach describes as being "about what I wish for" — and It's Not Too Late wastes no time in reflecting that sense of optimism (however tempered by reality that feeling may ultimately be).

"It's a prayer and a hope that it's not too late to turn things around so that goodness can triumph over adversity," Roach said in a statement. "The world, it would seem, is heading towards self-destruction and not just destroying Mother Earth but each other in wars."

The album boasts guest vocals from two choirs, the Short Black Opera choir and the Dhungala Children's Choir, the latter of whom will join Roach along with performer Corey Theatre at his upcoming shows.

Frontier Members will have the first shot at tickets for the gigs through exclusive pre-sale, which runs for 24 hours from 2pm AEST this Wednesday, 10 August, or until the allocation is exhausted. General-release tickets go on sale from 10am local time this Friday, 12 August, via Frontier Touring.

Let Love Rule is available for pre-order now. Check out the clip for It's Not Too Late — shot on Roach's mother's country, the lands of the Gunditjmara peoples, in south-west Victoria — below.
