More Ruby Boots More Ruby Boots

Currently soaking up a bounty of inspiration in Nashville, Perth singer-songwriter Ruby Boots, aka Bex Chilcott, found herself singing alongside Hollywood superstar Kevin Bacon over the weekend.

After touring the US with The Waifs earlier this year, Chilcott was invited back to perform at iconic Washington venue The Birchmere for three nights, opening for The Bacon Brothers, led by none of than Kevin Bacon (who you might recall from Footloose, Tremors, etc) and his older brother, Michael Bacon.

“On the first night I was really sick, green almost, so I didn’t stick around,” Chilcott explains.

“The second night Kevin said to me, ‘Oh are you sticking around after the shows?’, I didn’t see you last night. I told him I was unwell and barely got through my first show! So he asked me to sing with them on the third night.”

On Sunday night, Chilcott joined The Bacon Brothers on stage for a cover of Giving It Up For Your Love by Delbert Mcclinton, and it looks like it was one hell of a party:

Ruby Boots is currently penning a following-up record to 2015’s Solitude.
