That was fast.

More Splendour In The Grass More Splendour In The Grass

The 2016 Splendour In The Grass festival kicked off just hours ago but one of its acts has already cancelled an appearance this weekend.

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce was scheduled to participate in Splendour's own version of Q&A alongside host Tony Jones and Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young on Sunday, but the politician has since cancelled.

Joyce's office confirmed the cancellation to theMusic today, saying that though Joyce was looking forward to the event, other important issues forced him to cancel at the last minute.

Headlining today's festival is US outfit The Strokes and Melbourne's The Avalanches.
