Be One Of The First To Try This Ungodly Crossbreed Of Hamburger & Hotdog

“On Sunday someone is actually going to buy one of the first ones in the world.”

Innovation at its finest, hamburger-hotdog hybrid Hamdog will make its global debut in WA this weekend.

With a nod of approval from opposition leader Bill Shorten (intentional or not) and the green light from Shark Tank, the creation from Perth's Mark Murray will be on offer at ECU Joondalup’s Open Day this Sunday, July 17, from 10am – 3pm.

“On Sunday someone is actually going to buy one of the first ones in the world,” Murray told theMusic.com.au.

Just imagine, you’ll be able to sit your grandkids down years from now and tell them that you were there when the Hamdog was unleashed.

From humble beginnings, the idea for Hamdog came about seven years ago, when Murray was in Nashville, Tennessee.

“I left the pub and it was probably two or three in the morning, and over there, there’s a lot of food carts on the sidewalk,” Murray explains.

“One guy was selling hamburgers and the guy across the street was selling hotdogs and I was trying to figure out what I wanted and eventually got one of each.

“I’m getting driven home, and I’m taking a bite of my burger and a bite of my hotdog and balancing it all on my lap and thinking, ‘Wouldn’t it be easier if someone just joined these together?’” he laughs.

The “only Patented fast food product in the world”, Hamdog is set to hit the market in 2017.

In 2005, a product sharing the same name was developed in the US, which resembles a regular hotdog that’s covered in beef and chilli, deep-fried and filled with French fries and a fried egg.

Hamdog was featured on the last season of Channel 10’s Shark Tank Australia.
