Yep, you read that correctly.

If anyone ever tells you that nothing exciting happens in Perth, send them here.

A 50 tonne firing-breathing spider robot is heading to Perth in November for the Australian debut of three-day festival Arcadia Spectacular.

In an Australian exclusive, the dance-oriented festival will take over Elizabeth Quay - which hosted this year’s State Of The Art and Perth Festival - from 25 – 27 November, with a line-up of local, national and international talent to be announced next Wednesday, July 6.

The spider — which resembles something from Will Smith flick Wild Wild West — spent the past weekend rolling around Glastonbury and is built from repurposed military and industrial parts, firing enormous fireballs over audience members while artists perform directly below it. Its story will be told during 30-minute event The Landing Show, which details the aliens spider’s journey to Earth.

Having witnessed the insane feat over the weekend at Glasonbury, Stanton Warriors’ Dominic Butler described the endeavours as “unforgettable”.

Opening night (Nov 25) will featuring high-profile international electronic artists, with the following two day delivering Australian talent – the Sunday being an under 18s only event.

Tickets go on sale next Thursday, July 7, via the Arcadia Australia website.
