Playing your first gig overseas can be a daunting thing, but it doesn't get any bigger than playing at one of New York's most influential venues, like Melbourne-based artist Alice Ivy did last weekend.

The electro-soul producer played her first show at Pianos, a venue renowned for showcasing indie and dance acts and speaking to theMusic, Ivy said the occasion was one she won't soon forget.

"Playing my first show in New York was pretty special," she said.

"There were such great vibes in the room, I honestly don't think I've ever played to such a wild crowd.

"What made my night was someone in the crowd yelling, 'Welcome to New York, Alice' at the end of my set. So cliche but so good!"

Ivy is backing the memorable gig up with the release of brand new single Almost Here and an accompanying national tour to kick off this week.

Listen to Almost Here below.

The acclaimed songwriter will perform in Sydney, Geelong, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne throughout July, where she will be joined by a number of support acts including Froyo, Ross Henry, Canary, Georgia Rogers, RaRa, Squidgenini and Paradise DJs.
