Well, that was fast.

It only hit TV screens this past February but after just one season, the Mick Jagger/Martin Scorsese-created HBO series Vinyl has been cancelled.

The show, set in the ’70s New York music industry, lasted just ten episodes before the network announced it will not be returning for a second season.

As Rolling Stone reports, HBO confirmed the news in a statement released earlier today.

"After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second season of Vinyl. Obviously, this was not an easy decision. We have enormous respect for the creative team and cast for their hard work and passion on this project."

The show featured a slew of big name actors including Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde and Ray Romano, as well as Mick Jagger's son, James Jagger.

Jagger and Scorsese initially intended Vinyl to be made as a feature film when they came up with the idea nearly 20 years ago.

The first season received mixed responses from critics and fans and reviews of the show gave both hugely positive and negative verdicts.
