More than a dozen of Brisbane's finest musicians will be out in force at The Foundry next month for Bring Them Here — Sounds Of Change (BTHSC), an event held in support of Refugee Week 2016.

Organised by Camille Furtado and Erin Kennedy, BTHSC will feature performances from Patience Hodgson of The GratesBen Ely of Regurgitator and Robbie James of GANGgajang, all lending their talents in service of giving a voice to those all too often left without.

The bill is beefed out with several excellent local acts, including stalwart ensemble Baskervillain, psych-folk luminaries Golden Age Of Ballooning (whose new clip, Love & War, we premiered this week) and indie outfit Fugitive & The Vagabond, plus triple j faves Zefereli and Clea as well as local mainstays such as MKO SUNFieuScattered People and more.

BTHSC takes place less than a week before the federal election, putting asylum seeker issues back at the forefront of the table of pre-vote discourse, with Kennedy describing the gig as "a call to action as well as a celebration of the diversity and enrichment refugees and asylum seekers bring to our Brisbane communities".

Echoed Furtado: "It's horrifying that people — plural, that is — are taking the extreme measure of painful suicide to escape the cruelty of our nation after fleeing cruelty in their countries of origin."

"We are reaching out to our generation of Brissy music lovers who, like us, don't want to look back in five or 10 years and wish they had done something to end this torture," she said. "We want to know we played our part in telling our pollies that it must stop, and now."

The gig goes down at The Foundry, in Fortitude Valley, on Sunday 26 June. Doors open at 2pm, with music from 3pm.
