Brand New Label Coolin' By Sound Signs One Of Brisbane's Best Bands

Newly established record label Coolin' By Sound has asserted itself as a force to be reckoned with right out the gate with the announcement that this month it will release Company, the new single by venerated Brisbane indie-rockers Thigh Master, ahead of a new full-length album later in the year.

Coolin' By Sound is the brainchild of former The Music Brisbane editor Steve Bell — who also recently co-founded nascent record store Sonic Sherpa with one-time Skinny's owner Simon Homer — and his partner and fellow music aficionado Michelle Padovan (well known to locals as a core face of QMusic), with Company marking their first official release. 

The track has been serviced to radio as of today, 9 June, and will see the release of its accompanying video clip in just a couple of weeks, on 23 June. For those who've yet to discover the myriad aural pleasures of Thigh Master, your recommended homework starts with their earliest output, 2014's Head Of The Witch and last year's Songs To Wipe Your Mouth To EP, as well as setting yourself loose on their newest goods.

It's the live arena where Thigh Master truly shine, however, having garnered a stellar reputation for their energetic, infectious performances over the course of several well-received headline shows as well as spots alongside the esteemed likes of Guitar Wolf, The Coathangers, Ty Segall, Ariel Pink, The Clean, Real Estate and Courtney Barnett.

The band's latest feather-in-the-cap comes in the lead-up to the release of their debut LP, Early Times, which will be released via Coolin' By Sound in October.

If you can't wait till then to get more Thigh Master in your face, you're in luck — the band are heading out for a run of shows over the next few weeks to keep the faithful sated; they get under way at Sydney's Botany View Hotel this Saturday, 11 June, with support from Ill Winds and Abigail & Daisy, as well as additional performances at Petersham Bowls Club (Sydney, 12 June, w/You Beauty, Spod, Chook Race, WDK, Us The Band and Phone), Southport Sharks (Gold Coast, 24 June, w/Moonlight Society, Mark Alpen and Buff), The Foundry (Brisbane, 21 July, w/Trust Punks, Clever and Bent),The Tote (Melbourne, 29 July, w/Woollen Kits, Terry and Hot Topic) and The Grace Darling Hotel (Melbourne, 30 July, w/Primo and more TBC).
