The Frames Frontman Glen Hansard Announces 'Didn't He Ramble' Aussie Tour

Glen Hansard, the venerated Irish musician and founding member of The Frames, has announced the first dates for an impending run of shows in Australia as part of his Didn't He Ramble tour this October.

The veteran troubadour will take the stage at Melbourne's Palais Theatre on Wednesday 26 October, hitting the west coast on Saturday 29 October to perform at Perth's Astor Theatre.

Further dates are yet to be announced for the visit, which takes its title from Hansard's 2015 solo album of the same name, his second after 2012's Rhythm & Repose. Those figures belie the true extent of Hansard's musical prowess, which dates back at least to The Frames' 1991 debut, Another Love Song, and permeates that band's seven-album oeuvre.

Add to that history Hansard's already-acclaimed work as a solo musician — he even took out the Oscar for Best Original Song with Falling Slowly, co-written with Czech musician Marketa Irglova, from 2007 film Once — and it's clear that, as part of a band or lone wolf, Glen Hansard has the talent and the catalogue to make his Didn't He Ramble shows unmissable evenings to remember.
