'Break a leg' - yes, he did.

The bassist of South Auckland outfit Helgorithms broke his leg during a show on Friday night after an onstage stunt went horribly wrong.

Speaking to theMusicBailey Roiall recalled the nasty injury which occurred at Ding Dong Lounge, just three songs into the band's set.

"So what happened was that we were playing a song and what I like to do occasionally is jump and push myself from the wall" Roiall said.

"I've done it many times before but this time I landed awkwardly...I knew straight away it was fucked really, as I came down and saw and heard it click."

Roiall broke his right tibia and fibula as a result of the fall.

The post-metal band ironically stepped in to perform in place of fellow Auckland band Bloodnut, who were forced to cancel their show due to the group's drummer suffering from an ankle injury.

note:

The injury suffered during Helgorithms' show on Friday night occurred at Ding Dong Lounge in Auckland and not in Melbourne as we previously reported.
