Shuffling Down Under this June

Fans of CW procedural/mild horror/dramedy iZombie have double the reason to get excited for the upcoming Oz Comic-Con event in Melbourne as Kiwi actress and show star Rose McIver has been newly announced on the line-up alongside previous inclusion and co-star David Anders.

McIver has been heading up iZombie since its premiere last year, but had been active for several years leading up to her casting, having made her mainstream feature debut in the 2009 cinematic adaptation of acclaimed novel The Lovely Bones. She also appeared on shows such as Xena: Warrior PrincessHercules: The Legendary Journeys and Legend Of The Seeker, as well as being a series regular on Power Rangers RPM and recurring guest on Masters Of Sex and Once Upon A Time.

Fans will have the chance to get a photo with both McIver and Anders as part of the iZombie Duo photo package, while tickets are also available to join the pair at an iZombie fan dinner.

For the uninitiated, the show is loosely (loosely) based on the limited comic-book series of the same name published by DC Comics imprint Vertigo, and follows medical student-turned-zombie Olivia 'Liv' Moore (McIver) as she navigates her new un-life as one of the members of the shuffling (but sentient) dead after an outbreak at a party. Taking a job as an assistant to the county medical examiner (Rahul Kohli) to ensure steady access to the brains she needs to maintain her remnant humanity, Liv discovers the power to absorb memories and characteristics from the people whose brains she ingests. She thus uses her ability to aid put-upon detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) in solving crimes while dealing with larger threats from a mysterious multinational corporation, her increasingly suspicious ex-fiancee, and a petty criminal-turned-undead overlord (Anders).

The pair of actors add to an already-impressive roster of drawcards, including one-time T-1000 (and harbinger of nightmares) Robert Patrick, Xena star Lucy Lawless, Arrow/Doctor Who/Torchwood star John Barrowman, Gallavant and Psych alum Timothy Omundson, "the other Winchester" Jake Abel, Stargate Atlantis star Rachel Luttrell and many others.

Oz Comic-Con hits the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 11-12 June. Tickets are available now.
