OH. MY. GAWD.

The interweb has gone into meltdown in recent hours with speculation that US rock legends Rage Against The Machine are planning a comeback, thanks to a mysterious website that has been launched with a countdown and the hashtag, #TakeThePowerBack.

The countdown is set to conclude at the end of the month, with many suggesting it will lead to a possible tour announcement or new music.

Furthermore, if you subscribe to the new website, you will instantly be shot back an email that reads, "Clear the way for the Prophets of Rage. The party's over summer 2016."

Some US radio stations have also picked up on the countdown including KROQ and XL102 who made the bold prediction that the cryptic messages mean the band are making a comeback, tweeting "Holy sh*t Rage is coming back!"

However, not only is 'Prophets Of Rage' the name of an RATM tribute band, but as Amplify points out, it is also the title of a Public Enemy song, so what this all could possibly mean is still anyone's guess.

Posters of the symbol have also been spotted throughout LA.

While the acclaimed group are yet to comment on the speculation, guitarist Tom Morello tweeted out earlier this morning that the band predicted Donald Trump's candidacy.

RATM last performed together in 2011 at the LA Rising music festival.
