In support of their brand new single The Burning Number, alt-rockers Dead Letter Circus have announced an 11-date Australian tour slated for this August.

The quintet will kick off the shows in Adelaide, followed by performances in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle Brunswick Heads, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Mandurah, Margaret River, Perth and Fremantle.

Dead Letter Circus will also be donating one dollar from every ticket sold to Sea Shepard Australia to help fund fuelling vessels for South Sea missions.

Fans will be given the opportunity to match the band's donation by adding another dollar to the ticket price which will also go to the non-profit conservation organisation.

"It never ceases to amaze me the level of support Sea Shepherd receives from caring, compassionate people like Dead Letter Circus," Sea Shepard managing director Jeff Hansen said.

"Without this selfless support, our ships would remain idle at dock and not be able to defend our oceans. Sea Shepherd is delighted to have the support and on board partnership of Dead Letter Circus with a dollar from each ticket sold going straight to our fuel tanks, plus stalls at all their gigs that we encourage all to get along and see."

The Brisbane outfit will be joined on the tour by The Butterfly Effect's Clint Boge at select stops and Melbourne act Rival Fire.

Tickets for all shows go on sale from 9am on Thursday, 26 May.
