If you're a fan of The Stone Roses then this is probably way overdue, but the wait is finally over — after 21 long years, the legendary UK group have released new music.

The band today dropped new single All For One on BBC's Radio 1 at 8pm BST (5am Aus time) and was available to stream and purchase immediately after it hit the airwaves.

The track is expected to feature on the band's long-awaited third album, reportedly set for release later this year.

All For One has been received by critics and fans with favourable reviews for the most part, with NME describing the tune as a "blooming comeback".

"An anthem penned for the terraces, All For One is destined to go down a beer-swigging storm when the band kick off their super gigs at the Manchester Etihad Stadium next month."

The Guardian weren't as generous, writing that it lacks the "stardust of the band's peak".

"After a handful of listens, All For One doesn’t sound like the reputation-shredding disaster some feared," the three-star rated review reads.

"It will please the Madchester faithful, who don’t require a fresh take on what these musicians are about, but rather something that, on the surface at least, could slot neatly onto a Shine compilation from the era. But for those who crave the magic of the band at their peak, the wait goes on."
