More Closure In Moscow More Closure In Moscow

Prog-rock chameleons Closure in Moscow have announced a freshly minted change in management, with Mike Solo of The Bird’s Robe Collective (also home to sleepmakeswaves and The Red Paintings) taking over from Pete Williamson of Sabretusk.

Mid-this year, the quirky five-piece will be touring as main support for prog legends Coheed and Cambria on their return to Australia, at all shows except Perth. They will then go on to support American math-rock geniuses The Fall of Troy in July.

Once back from the road, Closure will head to the studio to record their third album — a yet-to-be-titled follow-up to 2014’s Pink Lemonade and 2009’s First Temple. The new partnership with Solo will undoubtedly yield positive results for the resilient outfit — the changeover is a wholly amicable one, after all — with the new manager being none too shy about his opinion of his new charges.

"Closure in Moscow are one of my all-time favourite bands," Solo effused in a statement. "I’m incredibly excited to be working with these guys who in addition to being awesome musicians, are a great bunch of dudes with a quirkiness that rivals even my own. I also want to say thanks to Pete for all the hard work he’s put in with the band for the past few years and wish him all the best with his new family for the future."

The members of Closure In Moscow echoed Solo's sentiments, saying in a statement: "We've always been a fan of Mike's work at Bird's Robe... He's a really passionate dude and it's exciting to meld minds with someone that is not only a sweet musician, but has our back with business acumen that you can set your watch to.

"The real clincher when it came to working with him however, is that he can recite every Wimbledon Men’s Singles winner from 1950 to today. Challenge him on it, throw a year at him, that's trivia knowledge you can take to the bank. Checkmate Glenn Wheatley."
