Holy shit.

More Mastodon More Mastodon

In what will arguably be one of the biggest rock supergroups in recent memory, members from Mastodon, Splendour 2016 act At The Drive-In and Queens Of The Stone Age are teaming up to form new outfit, Gone Is Gone

According to Rolling Stone, the line-up will consist of Mastedon frontman Troy Sanders, At The Drive-In drummer Tony Hajjar, QOTSA guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and guitarist/keyboardist Mike Zarin.

The new band are currently gearing up for the release of a debut EP mid-year.

The idea for the group came about when Hajjar and Zarin decided they wanted to form an experimental act on the back of scores they had written in recent years for film trailers and video games.

"Gone is Gone is a project that can live even when we are working with our other entities as well," Hajjar said.

"The goal is to be able to compose remotely, if needed, on film, trailers, or on anything else that comes up...It feels good to know that all this music will see the light of day soon."

"The vibe from day one was, and has been, very therapeutic and refreshing for me," Sanders added.

"The chemistry was immediate. I can only dedicate myself to something that rewards me purely, and we are all in this for the right reasons."

Gone Is Gone will play their debut show in LA on 27 April. Check out the teaser below.
