A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg Passes Away Aged 45

Most commonly known for his work with A Tribe Called Quest

US rapper and member of seminal hip hop act A Tribe Called Quest, Phife Dawg has reportedly passed away aged 45.

As The Source reports, the legend, aka Malik Isaac Taylor, had been battling health issues for years, including diabetes, and the news of his passing was spread by veterans of the genre Aesop Rock, Chuck DEl-P and more.

A Tribe Called Quest rose to fame in the ‘90s, producing a number of singles that include Can I Kick It, Electric Relaxation and Bonita Applebum.

No cause of death has been revealed yet.
