Hillsong Beat Out Hands Like Houses & DMA’s For Top Local Debut

This past week saw a wealth of Aussie releases set free into the world, and with a number of artists vying for the top local debut on the ARIA Albums Chart, Hillsong Young & Free's new record, Youth Revival, has surpassed favourites DMA’s and Hands Like Houses to claim that title, coming in at #3.

The sophomore record from Hillsong Young & Free was up against Canberra act Hands Like Houses' third record, Dissonants, and the debut offering from Sydney's DMA'S', Hill's End, which came in at #7 and #8 respectively.

As expected from midweek figures, British pop punkers The 1975 have claimed their first Australian #1 with I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It.

US rap duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis just missed out on a top 5 debut, scoring #6 with their latest effort, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made, while the Molly soundtrack holds its place at #2 and Adele’s 25 (#4) and Hilltop HoodsDrinking From The Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung (#5) remain in the top 5.

Other debuts include: Anthrax’s For All Kings (#12); Steel Panther’s Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage (#19); Celtic Thunder’s Legacy Vol. 1 (#32); Chase Rice’s Ignite The Night (#39) and compilation record George Fest: A Night To Celebrate The Music Of George Harrison (#41)

Over on the Singles Chart, Danish quartet Lukas Graham remain number one for a third week with 7 Years, while local legends Hilltop Hoods, with their Montaigne and Tom Thum collar, being jump to #2 with 1955.
