Friday Night Vibes Launches At Newtown Square

The streets of Newtown will blossom on Friday 5 Feb as Friday Night Vibes launches at Newtown Square. The vibe will be created with music, markets, flowers, food and places to sit and chill out.

The event will happen for the next eight weeks, the aim being to protect the sacred vibe that Newtown has to offer. Friday Night Vibes will act as the perfect starter to a great night out in town for the whole community.

"At NNC (Newtown Neighbourhood Centre) we are about justice, inclusion and fun. Everyone is welcome in Newtown, and the event will promote Newtown’s diversity and quirkiness, while also supporting our fantastic creative artists," says supporter of the movement, Ms Yeo.

This marvellous idea has even been extensively supported with a grant from The City Of Sydney, claiming it will discourage anti-social behaviour and promote inclusiveness. “The City is working to develop a strong, sophisticated and diverse night-time economy for Sydney, and initiatives like Friday Night Vibes are a big part of that,” says Lord Mayor Clover Moore.
