31 films showcasing Britain's best and brightest.

The BBC First British Film Festival's third year could just be its best yet, having announced a mighty line-up of 31 films showcasing the best and brightest of the British Isles.

The festival will open with Paolo Sorrentino's highly anticipated film, Youth, nominated for the Palme d'Or at this year's Cannes film festival, and close with inspirational biography The Man Who Knew Infinity, which comes straight from its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and features Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel.

With a heap of different angles on offer, the festival includes spy thriller Spooks: The Greater Good; an absurdist take on Shakespeare's lost years in Bill; Lance Armstrong-related biopic The Program; the powerful Suffragette; feature documentary Elstree 1976; family-friendly Get Santa and plenty more.

The event will take place nationally at Palace Cinemas throughout the latter end of October into November, with tickets going on sale from Wednesday 30 September at their website.
