A search for unknown parents by an agoraphobic genius via a robot replica anyone?

Their third production in this year's season, the Boutique Theatre company presents The Intelligent Design Of Jenny Chow as their contribution to the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Co-directed by Emma Caldwell and Samantha Cunningham, the cast includes Roby FavrettoLawrie Fildes and Tegan Jones, the play runs 17 Sep - 3 Oct at Brunswick Art Space.

Written by playwright Rolin Jones, it's the tale of an obsessive-compulsive agoraphobic genius who designs rockets for the US government, the heroine of the piece decides to create a replica of herself that can do all the things her fears and phobias won't allow, and most importantly, find her biological parents.

Before he started writing scripts for hit TV shows United States Of Tara and Boardwalk Empire, Jones scored a Pulitzer Prize nomination for his 2006 play The Intelligent Design Of Jenny Chow.
