Next year will mark the 25th anniversary since the release of '90s hard rock band Baby Animals' self-titled debut album and in celebration, the original line-up are set to reform to perform two massive shows.

The hugely popular Perth-founded group will first perform at Melbourne's Forum Theatre on 21 May, followed by a second show at Sydney's Enmore Theatre on 28 May.

Each night will see the band perform two sets; the first being a celebration of the group's entire catalogue performed by the current line-up, while the second will feature the original members performing the debut record in full.

The album which was originally released in September 1991 debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and held the top spot for a staggering six weeks. The record reached Platinum status eight times over and sold over one million copies worldwide.

Baby Animals are also dropping a new album to coincide with the shows, BA25, which features live performances recorded during a concert in Boston while on tour with the iconic Van Halen. The new record will also include unreleased tracks, B-sides and never-before-heard demos and is due for release on 20 May 2016.

"It seems like only yesterday that we were at Sound Level rehearsal studios in Sydney beginning this journey that's lasted 25 incredible years," lead singer Suze DeMarchi said.

"I feel really privileged to be celebrating all the great times with my band mates."
