The pop icon will induct fellow Aussie fave Tina Arena into the venerated ranks of ARIA's Hall Of Fame

More Kylie Minogue More Kylie Minogue

Australia’s sweetheart, Kylie Minogue, is coming back home to present at the 2015 ARIA Awards, made official by her own announcement on Channel Ten’s The Project.

The ARIA Hall Of Fame recipient and 16-time ARIA Award winner does have something of an ulterior motive underscoring her return to Australia — the promotion of her new album — alongside her commitment at this year's ARIA Awards ceremony on 26 November at The Star, Sydney, to induct Tina Arena into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kylie back to Sydney to join us in celebrating this year’s ARIAs," ARIA chief executive Dan Rosen said in a statement. "Kylie has a long-standing relationship with the ARIA Awards so we can’t wait for the 2011 ARIA Hall Of Fame recipient to grace us with her presence on the ARIA stage when she welcomes Tina Arena into the esteemed institution that is the ARIA Hall Of Fame."

The album that Minogue will be promoting on her forthcoming sojourn will be her just-released (first-ever!) Christmas album, Kylie Christmas, featuring duets with "the guy who comes on after Colbert" (James Corden) as well as Iggy Pop and Frank Sinatra (sort of). The 13-track album gives the Kylie gloss to a ream of festive standards, from It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year right through Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, and will finally provide a reprieve for those households that have been stuck in the Groundhog Day hell of listening to Mariah Carey's Merry Christmas for the past 21 years.
