Aussie Artists On Lockdown In Paris During Music Academy Event

The world-travelling Red Bull Music Academy event which kicked off in Paris at the end of last month has been postponed until further notice following the weekend's tragic terror attacks, leaving the program's artists on lockdown in the city, including Perth singer Kučka and Melbourne electro-indie artist DXHeaven.

Making the announcement via Twitter, organisers of the Red Bull event wrote, "Following the security recommendations of the French authorities, we will not host any shows in Paris until at least Thursday, November 19."

Following the security recommendations of the French authorities, we will not host any shows in Paris until at least Thursday, November 19.

On Saturday, Kučka wrote in a Facebook post that she was safe just hours after the initial attacks were reported. 

"Yes I'm fine, gonna be in lockdown in the hotel today," she announced on an online thread. 

It is understood that all artists still in Paris are safe. 

A series of workshops had commenced at Paris' La Gaite lyrique on 25 October and were scheduled to carry on through to 27 November, however unsurprisingly, the likelihood of the event to continue is now in doubt. 

The French Government has now confirmed that the state of emergency will extend to three months across France and there is a possibility it could last even longer.
