A very sad day for the music industry.

Australian live production pioneer Eric Robinson tragically passed away from complications with cancer in his home of Port Douglas yesterday.

As the CEO of JPJ Audio and Jands Production Services, Robinson is considered one of the most influential figures in Australia's concert scene, having worked in the industry for over 40 years.

Throughout his career, Robinson was responsible for staging and technical productions of a number of high profile national tours such as Elton John and ABBA, as well as some of the country's most beloved festivals, including Big Day Out and the ARIA Awards.

Robinson was awarded the Sue Nattrass Award at the 2015 Helpmann Awards this past July for his long standing commitment to the live performance industry.
