Massive results for local lads done good

More Parkway Drive More Parkway Drive

Beloved Byron heavyweights Parkway Drive have stormed their way into the upper echelons of Britain's Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart this week, with acclaimed new EP Ire stepping out at #3.

It's solidly the week's highest new entrant on those rankings, too, making its debut a solid way ahead of next-highest new faces No Devotion and Permanence, who enter at #10 this week. Parkway's arrival on the charts also makes way for Bring Me The Horizon to jump up a spot to #2 (behind David Gilmour's incumbent #1 album Rattle That Lock), as last week's silver medallist, Threat To Survival, by Shinedown, tumbles down to #6.

However, impressive as Parkway Drive's result would be on its own, it's not their only appearance across the British charts this week; in fact, Ire has also seen the Aussie outfit make a top-five debut elsewhere, opening at #4 on this week's Indie Albums Chart. The album also makes its debut on the Official Top 100 Albums chart, a little ways down but still unspeakably impressive at #23.

Parkway Drive are currently in the midst of their tour in support of the new album, but they'll hopefully have a few moments of peace to take a second to celebrate the results before they take the stage with Thy Art Is Murder, Memphis May Fire & The World Alive at Byron Bay High School today and tomorrow. They play in Sydney on Friday 9 October, but will be holding an in-store signing at Utopia Records from 4-6pm the day before.
