More You Am I More You Am I

Veteran Aussie outfit You Am I have announced that they will embark on a comprehensive national tour to celebrate the arrival of their forthcoming 10th studio album Porridge & Hotsauce this November.

The ARIA-winning band will set off for their cross-country sojourn from the end of this month, when they get under way at Geelong's Barwon Club on Thursday 29 October, going on to rock stages in Hallam (30 October), Mulgrave (31 October) and Bendigo (1 November) before departing Victoria — via Adelaide (6 November) — for the western pastures of Perth (7 November). From there, it's back east to ride up the coast through Wollongong (12 November), Toukley (13 November), Newcastle (14 November), Noosaville (19 November), Brisbane (20 November), Gold Coast (21 November), Toowoomba (22 November), Airlie Beach (25 November) and Townsville (26 November), with the journey entering its final stages in Darwin (27 November) and Alice Springs (28 November), winding down in Sydney (2 December) and Melbourne (4 December) before they call it a tour.

Notably, the fans in Adelaide are in for a special show indeed — not that everyone else isn't — as the show on 6 November coincides with release day for Porridge & Hotsauce, which drops via Inertia and has already offered up a taster in the form of recent track Good Advices, which frontman Tim Rogers says was inspired "a few years ago when we were given the opportunity to look back at some records we had done a while back".

"Whilst it was a blast, havin' a peek behind us only compelled us to leap foolishly into the future," he said. "Good Advices is about throwing away the script and clinging to your imagination as the only guide. We've trusted our wits so far, and if it got us here, this hopped up and rarin' to go, our wits done good."
