Soundwave Puts Operating Company Into Voluntary Administration; Festival Goes Ahead

“Nothing from previous years will affect next year’s festival.”

The company in which Soundwave Festival used to operate under has gone into voluntary administration.

The decision follows a NSW Supreme Court preliminary directions hearing this morning set in motion by an application filed by World Stages Pty Ltd on August 28.

World Stages Pty Ltd, who went into liquidation in July, set out to wind up the company’s operations over an unpaid debt.

Promoter AJ Maddah told theMusic.com.au that decision to put Soundwave Festival Pty Ltd into voluntary administration was in an effort to organise debts under the old company name in order to clean things up.

“As far as the old company’s concerned, we’re working on receivables and payables and if there is any residual debt left after that point, then we will try and look after those people.” Maddah said.

An official hearing has been confirmed for October 19, but Maddah says it won’t have an impact on next year’s run.

“Nothing from previous years will affect next year’s festival,” he said.

“We’ve got a great line-up; everything is on track for next year.”

The line-up is set to be announced next Thursday, with a number of acts, including Bullet For My Valentine, Dead Letter Circus, Refused, Bring Me The Horizon and more, already confirmed.
