Watch A Drummer Demonstrate What It's Like To Play While On Pretty Much Every Drug

Dude, cocaine beats are my jam

More The Internet More The Internet

It's probably doubtless that you've attended many a festival or concert at which the performers have been on some kind of drug. Heck, you've probably been right there along with them, watching the notes and feeling the sights, all to your filthy hippie heart's content.

What's slightly less likely is that you've seen a single drummer go through the variable madness of cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, LSD, jeffrey — a (wholly fictional, right? right) drug cited in Get Him To The Greek, essentially a mix of pot, angel dust, eccies, meth, coke and a mixture of other ingredients — bath salts, hallucinogens, alcohol and steroids in a little under three minutes.

Never mind your boring life experiences, though, because today's your lucky day, as American drummer, vocalist and comedian Jared Dines (also of Washington outfit Dissimulator) has uploaded a clip of himself doing just that — though obviously without actually ingesting any of the drugs in question (don't be mad; we said he would "demonstrate what it's like", not that he was actually playing drums while on drugs).

To be honest, most of his approximations of what it would be like to play percussion on a wealth of different drugs are pretty on the mark — the loving stroking of the cymbals during the 'ecstasy' passage is especially on-point (not that we'd know, of course) — but if his real-life sobriety has let the video down in any way, it's the fact that he manages to still stay in time through pretty much the entire thing, even up to the second that the bath salts properly kick in and he abandons the kit for a good old-fashioned bout of running and screaming.
