The fight's not over yet.

The Sydney Of City Council have today stepped forward in a bid to save the recently evicted music studio, The Echo Creative.

Following yesterday's news that the owners of the respected Sydney studio have been given just one month to vacate the premises after Mirvac developers bought out the property and subsequently launched a petition to save the music space, the story caught the attention of Councillor Linda Scott who contacted theMusic to announce her intentions to help the studio find a new location.

"I'm disappointed to see one of our inner city music studios is at risk of closure," Scott said.

"Having led the Labor Loves Live Music campaigns, I know we need more music venues and studios for the future of our city, not less."

While it can be confirmed that Mirvac have today offered the studio a few extra weeks to move out, the City Of Sydney staff will now commence work with The Echo Creative team to "support their needs for studio spaces."

"Hopefully, together, we can get them a space to play."

The petition, which urges the developers to provide a grant for a new community hub, is well on its way to reach its desired target. To sign, click here
