Kim Moyes, Ben Salter, KLP & More Named In Final BIGSOUND Speaker Announce

This year's imminent BIGSOUND showcase and conference in Brisbane has developed into an absolutely gargantuan affair, with today's final announcement of industry speakers taking the total tally of panel experts past the 100-strong mark in addition to the casual 150 performing acts already unveiled for next month's event.

Organisers have left no corner of the industry unrepresented, either, with the fresh batch of speakers coming from all walks, including labels, publishers, media, and everything in-between. Importantly, they're not skimping on the artist perspective, with Kim Moyes (The Presets), Ben Salter, KLP, Justin Heazlewood (The Bedroom Philosopher), Emma Donovan, Jeremy Neale, Sarah Spencer (Blank Realm), Simona Kapitolina and Hau Latukefu all joining the speakers' ranks, among others.

They've even nabbed some high-profile international guests to grace the event, including Brendon Haas (BMI, US), Caitlin Veitch (Third Side Music, US), Ruth Barlow (Beggars Group, UK), David Goldsen (Warner Chappell, US), Jennifer Sullivan (memBrain, US), Adam Bauer (Fleming Artists, US) and Stephen King (Believe Digital, UK), just to name a few. Those appearances are, of course, in addition to the already-sizable newly announced local contingent of industry identities, including representatives from Higher Plains, One Louder Entertainment, Dew Process, Create/Control, Northside Records, ARIA, AMRAP, AIR, AMIN, QUT, Lunatic Entertainment, UNFD, JB HiFi, Fans Creative Management, Wild Things Presents, Sounds Australia and LISTEN — and many more — all being added to the final roster of BIGSOUND talking heads.

Since we love to talk, the media are a natural inclusion in all of this, with representatives headed to BIGSOUND from several of the nation's best music outlets (including The Music, duh) such as triple j, Vice, Thump, FasterLouder, Music Feeds, and 2Day FM. Plenty of local radio is getting love too, with ABC Local Radio, FBi, Triple R and Brisbane's own 4ZZZ all offering up folks to lend some extra intelligence to the whole affair.

"The final line-up of BIGSOUND 2015 is something that we're really proud of," executive programmer Nick O'Byrne said in a statement. "This is the most influential and diverse array of international music industry representatives that we've ever assembled in Australia while our local delegation grows stronger each year.

"We've also put together a conference program which is at times practical, at times thought-provoking and at all times progressive."
