"I want this to be a theatre experience that people will never forget."

More INXS More INXS

Though they've disbanded, you'll be able to catch the works of legendary Sydney rockers INXS as part of INXS — The Musical in late 2016 when Chris Murphy, the band's manager for two decades, will unveil the musical as the Murphy Theatrical Group's first production.

Though no concrete details have been announced yet in terms of where the musical will premiere or the creative team set to bring it to life, Murphy has said, "It has always been my vision to present INXS’s amazing songs in a stunning theatrical environment as a testament to this band's incredible catalogue."

"My philosophy has always been that there is no better calling card than success, so taking our newly acquired exclusive INXS Musical rights to the world stages and making it a success is our clear policy and mandate."

Founding member and lead guitarist of the band Tim Farriss will be working with Murphy on the musical, having already worked together with Murphy on the Seven Networks' Never Tear Us Apart mini-series.

Farriss adds of the band's foray into theatre: "As a live band, INXS has performed thousands of shows in every type of venue, all over the world. INXS music was born to be performed.

"I am very excited to bring INXS' music to the theatrical stage in a way it never has. I want this to be a theatre experience that people will never forget."
