Troye Sivan, Walk The Moon & More Named For Second Sydney YouTube FanFest

The sophomore vlog-culture event will boast the world's most recognisable web stars all in one place this September

Following last year's sell-out inaugural event, it's little surprise that the YouTube FanFest is returning to Sydney in 2015, and it's bringing with it an absolute smorgasbord of A-list vlogging talent along for the ride, including local star Troye Sivan, YouTube queen Jenna Marbles and viral Shut Up & Dance hitmakers Walk The Moon.

This year's Sydney YouTube FanFest will once again be held in the wake of international events in India (which went down in March), Canada, Singapore, Thailand (all May) and the Philippines (June), which should give you an indication of the kind of weight the platform now carries all around the world.

"I was so excited to be a part of YouTube FanFest's inaugural event last year, I was completely blown away by the experience and by the fans and their deafening screams!" Michael Chugg, the executive chairman of show promoters Chugg Entertainment, said in a statement.

"These YouTube creators are absolute superstars and I can't wait to get them on the stage in Sydney for an even bigger show this time around. We've invited along some of the biggest YouTube stars in the world, brought in state-of-the-art production and set a great ticket price to make the show accessible to all the fans. It's going to be a huge night!"

Also aboard this year's roster are avidly watched web celebrities (cewebrities?… nah, that's terrible, forget it) including Bethany Mota, IISuperwomanII, Kurt Hugo Schneider, Connor Franta, Timothy DeLaGhetto, Mike Tompkins and local upstarts Lauren Curtis, Natalie Tran, Jayesslee and SketchShe, so there are plenty of names to keep punters as vocally pleased with proceedings as they apparently were last year.

"Last year's FanFest in Sydney was the loudest in the series according to the decibel meter, coming in at 113.3dB," YouTube head of marketing (Aus/NZ) Chris Dodson said in a statement. "With a line-up featuring Jenna Marbles, IISuperwomanII and Troye Sivan, we're confident fans will have even more to shout about this year."

This year's Sydney YouTube FanFest will be held at the Qantas Credit Union Arena on Friday, 11 September. Tickets go on sale from 10am this Friday, 7 August, via Ticketek. There will also be a pre-show red-carpet event to allow fans the chance to rub shoulders with their favourite stars, plus exclusive meet'n'greets. See the event's website for more information.
