They did it, the rascals. They did it

More Northlane More Northlane

Australian metalcore outfit Northlane have made good on their midweek potential by having their acclaimed third album Node rocket to the top of the ARIA Albums Chart, beating out veteran heavyweights Lamb Of God and their new full-length VII: Sturm Und Drang to the throne in the process.

The local success means the elder statesmen are forced to settle for #2, and we think we speak for everyone when we say: YEA BOI.

Somewhat disparately from the two highest debuts for the week, US country musician Alan Jackson isn't too far behind, settling in behind new #3 Currents, by Tame Impala, to see his new rekkid Angels & Alcohol (god, BE MORE COUNTRY) step out at #4. Fellow locals Holy Holy also enjoy a strong debut this week, just outside the top 10 with When The Storms Would Come opening at #11, just ahead of the Southpaw soundtrack, which debuts at #13, and Hopsin's Pound Syndrome, rearing its head at #15.

Joe Satriani albums can apparently still move with aplomb, the veteran stringsmith making his debut at #23 with Shockwave Supernova, while yet another heavy act — We Came As Romans — do solid work for their entry spot, with their self-titled stepping out just inside the top 30, at #29.

Aussie songstress Delta Goodrem makes the highest new entry on the Singles ladder this week, slipping in just inside the top 10 with Wings at #8, while the incumbent top four do a bit of a shuffle — #1 and #2 remain the same (Lost FrequenciesAre You With Me [Original Mix] and The Weeknd's Can't Feel My Face respectively), while #3 and #4 switch places to see GalantsPeanut Butter Jelly take the bronze and Meghan Trainor's Like I'm Gonna Lose You, featuring John Legend, slip to #4.

Down the stretch a spell, local boy-done-good Vance Joy may be losing his magic touch back at home, if not in Taylor Swift's eyes — his new ditty Fire & The Flood makes its landing outside the top 20, albeit only just — it's at #21.
