Popular Sydney Venue To Relaunch This August

Welcome back, Slyfox.

Popular late-night music venue, once known as The Sly Fox Hotel, has been revived under new management and will re-open in August under the new title, Slyfox.

Set up on Sydney's Enmore Road, the revamped venue has adopted a strong '70s design, fresh with a shagpile carpet, jungle wallpaper and low-hanging patterned lamp shades.

Creative director Kerry Wallace said that the new styling direction was inspired by a well-known bar in Melbourne.

"Revolver in Melbourne was an inspiration with its retro feel and lampshades," Wallace said.

"We went 10 steps further, though. Our lampshades are controlled via a DMX lighting system, so they change colours and flash through thousands of patterns. It's quickly become the identity of the venue. It looks sensational."

Meanwhile, to coincide with the venue re-opening its doors on Tuesday 4 August, Slyfox will hold a five-night relaunch party party through to Saturday 8 August.

The venue will also host a new schedule which Wallace says offers a "very varied weekly schedule."

'Terrible Tuesdays' offer a relaxed environment which includes free entry, $10 pizzas, board games and chilled-out tunes, while Wednesday, renamed 'Birdcage' will continue its popular lesbian night including free entry and discounted alcholic beverages.

Thursday will be all about live music performances each week by three-four musicians and the relaunch night will also include a live set from Melbourne act Mojo Juju, while Friday will be hosted by a line-up of Sydney promoters presenting a selection of disco, house, techno, soul, funk and more.

Finally, Saturdays will feature Slyfox's own residents who will perform deep house tunes until very late into the night, which will also include discounted entry prices.
