Two very different reactions.

More Ashanti More Ashanti

Sydney fans of Ja Rule and Ashanti were left seething from the US acts' performance on Sunday night at Max Watts, and both artists have given mixed reactions in the aftermath.

After concert-goers claimed that the hip-hop stars were not only an hour late to the show, but that they also performed for less than 30 minutes, Ja Rule initially apologised to fans on Twitter for what he called "a bad situation".

However earlier today the 39-year-old rapper took to Instagram to slam the Aussie media, writing "FUCK YOU."

Ja Rule explained that he and Ashanti were late to the show and couldn't perform a full set "due to uncontrollable circumstances".

He finished the post with: "And if u still have a problem with my explanation and or apology well than FUCK YOU TOO!!!"

Meanwhile, tour promoters have announced that Ashanti will conduct a private meet and greet with fans at Max Watts tonight to make up for the performance in question.

"This will be as a form of compensation for the disappointment you may have experienced as a result of the communication break down," the statement read.

"Ja Rule will be unable to attend as he has prior commitments - But Ashanti will be there to represent, show love and meet her Sydney Fans!"

Fans who went to the show are encouraged to attend the meet and greet tonight from 7:30pm and must show confirmation of purchase of tickets upon arrival.
