WAM Announce Broadcasting Veteran Russell Woolf As New Board Member

Woolf brings more than 20 years of experience in the West Australian industry to the role

West Australian Music (WAM) has announced that Russell Woolf will be joining the board.

Woolf will bring over 20 years of West Australian industry experience to the team to help better champion WA music.

Having studied broadcasting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), Woolf headed regional WA with various stints as a radio host and ABC broadcaster. He presented the Long Lunch program with Verity James and then the hugely popular Drive program for almost a decade, and also spent five years as the ABC TV News weather presenter. He currently hosts Saturday Breakfast on 720 ABC Perth.

Woolf joins a WAM Board comprised of dedicated volunteers, with Al Taylor (Board President), Noah Shilkin of Margaret River (Vice-President), Steven McCabe (Treasurer), Bel Skinner of Broome (Secretary), David Hyams, Jacob Snell, Jo Carson, Simon Reed and Leanne Casellas all helping guide WAM’s ongoing efforts within the WA music industry.
