The Oz-punk vets will commemorate the release with a live performance this October

More Bodyjar More Bodyjar

Venerated Melburnian punk-rock veterans Bodyjar have announced a full live performance of their seminal sixth album (or fourth, depending on who's telling it) and major-label debut, How It Works, in Melbourne this October, to coincide with the record's 15th anniversary.

In addition, for the first time ever, the band will be releasing the album on vinyl, with a limited-edition, 500-copy-only run — worldwide — of the full-length being put out with the assistance of the good folks at UNFD, to be made available for purchase from Thursday, 9 July. Extra-nice is the fact the album art has reverted back to the original first-pressing colour scheme (orange/yellow background, blue font), in contrast to the blue background and orange font of the second pressing and later.

As mentioned, numbers are strictly limited on this release, so you'll want to move quickly when it goes up for sale. Fortunately, you can kill two birds with one stone by sussing a ticket and vinyl bundle (available via 24Hundred) from 9am next Thursday.

If you're only after a ticket to the How It Works anniversary performance, you'll have to wait an extra 24 hours; general public passes are on sale from Friday, 10 July, via Ticketscout.

Bodyjar will perform How It Works live at Northcote Social Club on Saturday, 3 October, with support from special guests and contemporaries/torchbearers Clowns. See theGuide or check The Music App for more information.

The band celebrated their 20th anniversary together last year with a commemorative tour, during which they played 1996 LP Rimshot in its entirety every night.
