Brisbane Festival Unleashes Massive 2015 Program

456 shows confirmed for this year’s event

Brisbane Festival has spared no expense compiling this year’s program, and the resulting line-up boasts an eclectic mix of music and arts that sees a number of premieres and exclusive performances.

Kicking off 5 September and running until 26 September, the bill features 456 shows including dance, theatre, circus, cabaret, opera, film, visual arts and music events.

In an exciting world premiere, Tim Winton, Bernard Fanning and Katie Noonan join forces for Rise For The Oceans, a production that pays homage to Australia’s marine ecosystem.

A State Of Grace: The Music Of Tim And Jeff Buckley also sees Aussie rockers join forces, featuring Martha Wainwright, Casper Clausen, Willy Mason, Camille O’Sullivan, Steve Kilbey.

Cabaret and circus combine for the Marcia Hines-led Velvet, street dance will come to the forefront of the conversation with exclusive US work Flexn, and Megan Washington among other acts have signed on for shows at The Spiegeltent.

This year’s Festival Village has been dubbed Arcadia and will be five times larger than it was in previous years, consuming South Bank with two massive performance tents, a wealth of food, art installations, music and more.
