Western Sydney metal outfit Northlane have had to cancel their upcoming slots at Belgian festival Graspop and German festival Southside, with their new vocalist Marcus Bridge having to seek urgent medical assistance.

Announced on the band's Facebook, they remain very vague as to what exactly Bridges is facing, only stating that "Upon inspection it was revealed that he had an issue that needed to be operated on immediately due to a high risk of the problem getting worse. While we can’t go into specifics, we can tell you that he will be absolutely fine".

The Facebook post also notes that the band will go ahead with their show in Dessau, Germany that night — in a later post, the band stated, "A big thankyou to all of the people who came to the show in Dessau tonight, and especially all of the people wishing Marcus well. We are delighted to tell you that his surgery went very well and he's going to be just fine. Although quite serious, It had nothing to do with his voice."

Currently on a tour of Europe's summer festivals, the five-piece will head to North America for a tour in August and back to Europe in October.
