The stalwart Aussie act will release 'Ire' this September

More Parkway Drive More Parkway Drive

Esteemed Byron-bred hardcore vets Parkway Drive have announced the release details for their eagerly awaited fifth studio full-length, Ire, complementing the news of its unveiling later this year with the arrival of first-taste clip Vice Grip and the announcement that the band will be setting off for a celebratory tour of the country in its wake.

Stepping out into the world on Friday, 25 September, via Resist Records, the 11-track Ire marks a self-acknowledged turning point in the musical life of the band, a forward-thinking follow-up to 2012's acclaimed Atlas that expertly avoids revisionism and gimmickry, propelling Parkway Drive to new sonic and thematic territories.

"This is the album for us," frontman Winston McCall summarised in a statement. "Every single step of the way, whenever there was a gamble to take, we took the biggest one we could.

"If this isn't the album that can go further than anything we thought was possible with this band and this type of music, that's fine, but we can't go back from this, as far as we're concerned."

In honour of the impending album release, Parkway Drive have freshly released the video clip for first single Vice Grip, which, yes, leaked over the weekend but is far more rewarding to hear in an official capacity, if you ask us. Check it out below.

Once the album does drop (pre-orders are available now), there will be plenty of opportunities for you patient fans out there to catch the long-absent band in action again, and even a chance just before — Parkway Drive commence their 2015 Ire tour of Australia at Perth's Red Hill Auditorium a couple of days before release day, on Wednesday, 23 September.

Following that, they carry on with a show in Adelaide, at Thebarton Theatre, on Friday, 25 September; at Melbourne's Festvial Hall, on Saturday, 26 September; in Hobart, at the Odeon Theatre, on Sunday, 27 September; at Brisbane's Riverstage, on Friday, 2 October; at home in Byron Bay at the High School, on Saturday, 3 October; in Sydney, at the Hordern Pavilion, on Friday, 9 October; at Canberra's UC Refectory, on Saturday, October 10; and at Panthers, in Newcastle, on Sunday, 11 October.

The band will be joined on tour by Suicide Silence, Memphis May Fire and The World Alive; tickets for all shows are on sale now through a variety of outlets.
